Darlin’ little badazz barfood joint on the lake. THE BEST hushpuppies in county! (Get side of butter.) Save room for funnel cake fries served w a dip of chocolate like in spain. We made special trip without boating. Going back soon to try more menu :)

I went to The Anchor on a Friday night. They had a live band but it wasn't super crowded, likely because its still winter. I cant wait to go back in the spring/summer. We sat really close to the band so it was a little loud for my preference but couldnt be helped. I had a burger and honestly, it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. Bun was toasted but not burnt, meat patty was thick with good seasoning. Veggies were fresh on the burger as well. I ate every bite. The menu had "bar food" but also comfort food; chicken friend steak, etc. It was a good variety. I later found out they are owned by the same people who oen The Blue Mound Cafe so of course the food is great! Meal cost around $15 for 1 person. The beer was cold and staff were friendly. I will definitely be back.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about The Anchor on Eagle Mountain Lake. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and exactly what you want for a relaxing day by the water. The views alone are worth the visit. Sitting there with the lake in the background just feels like a mini getaway. The food was absolutely delicious. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can tell they truly care about quality. The drinks were just as impressive and so refreshing, especially on a warm day. What really made the experience stand out was the service. Everyone was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. We felt genuinely taken care of the entire time. Whether you are going for brunch with girlfriends, a date night, or just a casual lakeside bite to eat, this place checks all the boxes. I will definitely be back and bringing friends with me next time.

Good lakeside dining. Since it was pretty cold, the venue wasn't real busy, so parking was no problem. It was pretty cool outside, so the views were limited with the garage doors down and windows buttoned up and we did not feel a draft sitting near one of the doors. Was seated right away. The puppy basket (hushpuppies) with their tarter sauce were very good. Wife and I split the BBQ Bacon burger. Was cooked perfectly and very tasty, waffle fries were nice and crispy. We also tried their kettle chips - also very nice and crispy, but they didn't salt them (just FYI). Plenty of TVs to see sporting events or other shows of interest. The only reason I dinged one star for atmosphere was due to the numerous spider webs inside at the ceiling. I think if they just knocked them down every so often, this would fix that problem. I didn't see any spiders while we were eating, but...

This place is much better than it used to be. The food is on point and the drinks were made very good!!! If you haven't stopped in, you should!

UPDATE 9/26/25 Came back for another try and was much better food wise and service wise….. we shared the bacon wrapped boats (poppers) for an appetizer and they were amazing and then had the chicken fried steak as our entree, was all very good….. definitely worth going back for. We got there early to miss the crowd so the “busyness “ wouldn’t be a factor. So, we were seated under a fan, and the temperature in the establishment was quite chilly. The waitress even mentioned feeling cold herself. Politely, we asked if the fan could be turned down to a slower speed and she agreed to ask..... Upon her return, she informed us that the request had been made but unfortunately was told NO. With that said, when we received our meal the presentation was great, first few bites were good but it quickly cooled down, which is less than ideal when consuming fried food like buffalo chicken sandwich and onion rings. .. The owner was present but seemed “preoccupied”, failing to acknowledge the limited number of customers present. Since its new, most owners and managers take a quick moment to check with patrons to get some feedback and opinions on their meals and service as they pass by the tables. Although this particular establishment has only been open for a week, the owners operate several other successful food-serving properties that we frequent and enjoy. Uncertain if we will return to this specific location.

Hannah is the best! She took care of me and my dogs! I had the blackened chicken with Mac n cheese and coleslaw, it was delicious! Will be coming back!

If it was amazing I haven't had anything like that in a long time it's worth the money that you paid for. Service was amazing are waiter kept asking us for more drinks and helped out choosing food out. Is the great bar but the outside upstairs is amazing view of the lake especially whenever the sun is coming down
